    Izzy Stevens fell in love with cardiothoracic patient Denny Duquette and the couple even got engaged. To expedite Denny getting a new heart, Izzy tampers with his wires hoping to move him up on the transplant list. However, he has a stroke hours later and passes away. With the money left to her in his will, Izzy opens up a clinic at the hospital.
